Designing your project or programme at – or even better – before the start is a core competence. But how to do this? What are the parameters and working principles for success? And what could be the result?
Professor Yvonne Schoper includes you in this keynote speech in a storyline of a successful project, in which a complex and large project (billions) was designed.
- The Setting: a large project for renovating a motorway, its tunnels, and bridges. The motorway is needed 24/7.
- The Challenge: The classical way of planning ended up in an impossible duration planning and a cost level of billions. The challenge for the project manager was how to rethink the project assumptions in order to have a Project “Designed for Success”.
- The Result: this reality story ended up in an out-of-the-box Project Design which gave success! 58 billion Euro was saved and the duration was unthinkable short: 3 instead of 24 months.
In her speech Professor Yvonne Schoper shares:

Her passion is to bring our profession forward with subjects of international and intercultural project management, project management careers and incomes, cultural influences in project management, women in project management, projectification of economies, and last but not least designing projects for success.
Professor Yvonne Schoper holds a BSc in Engineering Management, a MA in International Business, and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering. She worked as a project manager for BMW where she was responsible for several international automotive development projects in the USA and in Germany.
